    Just 7 Fun Facts About The Pandemic Road Trip Comedy "Stop And Go"

    The new road trip comedyStop and Go(from DECAL, Sorø Films, and BuzzFeed Studios) follows two sisters, played by Mallory Everton and Whitney Call, on their speedy cross-country adventure to rescue their grandmother from the COVID-19 outbreak at her nursing home.

    The film is full of wild and funny moments that perfectly bring humor to the all-too-real chaos we've all faced this last year and a half.

    So ahead of its release on Oct. 1, we spoke with Mallory and Whitney about the process of making a movie together. Here are the seven things you need to know before watching the comedy of the season:

    1. Filmmakers Mallory Everton and Whitney Call, who co-wrote and play sisters inStop and Go, are life-long besties IRL.

    The duo met when they were kids after being brought along on an outing one day by their older siblings who were dating at the time. Although their brother and sister's relationship ended at some point, Mallory and Whitney have remained the best of buds 23 years later.

    2.Stop and Gois not the first time these comedians have created something awesome together.

    Mallory recalls that she and Whitney have worked on several projects with each other, from home videos as kids and high school plays to being in the same sketch comedy group together in college, which led to them creating their very own web series. You might recognize them as original cast members inStudio C.

    3. The film was created out of a need to just make something in the midst of the pandemic.

    Whitney couldn't have described it better: "2020 was pretty terrible." Quarantine definitely drove most of us to weird places, to picking up new skills or just self-reflecting a littletoomuch. Mallory attributes the creation of the movie to a "joint madness" between the two stars and the real-life constraints of the pandemic giving way to a lot of creativity.

    4. The entire movie was filmed in two weeks...and that's seriously impressive.

    Aside from the need to cope with everything going on through creative outlets, film festival deadlines were the main motivator for Mallory and Whitney to get this project finished! According to Whitney, the pair had from July 2020 until the festival deadlines in October to get everything completed. She said: "We wrote it in two weeks, we pre-produced it in two weeks, we filmed it in two weeks...we made the deadlines, and it's not recommended!"

    5. The duo faced some imposter syndrome during production.

    Making a movie is already a huge accomplishment — making a movie in two weeks is incredible! There were moments that Whitney referred to as "a test of how much [they] really wanted to make a movie." Thankfully, they finished production proudly and now we all get to watch a really fun film!

    6. There's some pretty cool scenery in this movie.

    It'd be impossible to consider a real-life road trip a success without making sure to see some of the beautiful things nature has to offer on your long drive — andStop and Godefinitely understood the assignment!

    7. And finally, Mallory and Whitney want you to just have a good time watching their film.

    When asked what they really wanted everyone to know about their film, the stars had this to say:

    Mallory: "Sit back, relax and blow off some steam with this. Let's laugh together about this thing because [we're] tired of crying."

    Whitney:"[The film] was mostly a way for us to say 'Hey has life sucked for you the last 18 months? Us too!' Let's laugh and hopefully it won't suck so much knowing we're all in this together."
