It's been over two years sinceDisney announced they're developing a live-action remakeof the 1997 animated classicHercules, and news about the film has been sparse.
Well, the day is finally here! We've got an update, although it's a little...confusing.
In a newinterview with Variety, producer Joe Russo revealed that the film is a musical, and to help make it feel more modern, they're taking inspiration from TikTok.
He said, "There are questions about how you translate it as a musical. Audiences today have been trained by TikTok, right? What is their expectation of what that musical looks like and feels like? That can be a lot of fun and help us push the boundaries a little bit on how you execute a modern musical.”

While we don't know exactly what Russo means by this, people took to Twitter to voice their concerns over what they think is a bad idea.
